Mangatoa is a large dairy beef/heifer finishing, operating in Kaikohe.
The Opportunity
Do you like spending time with your family on the weekends, do you want to live in the Sunny far north?
Rarely is there an opportunity like this in farming. If work life balance is your thing, this position offers just that, you'll usually work Monday to Friday, with most weekends off. Live on farm, with the school bus at the gate.
Are you an experienced fencer looking for a new opportunity?
In this role, you'd be managing our fencing programme, including repairs, maintenance and operating machinery. You will be used to managing your own time, while checking in with the Farm Manager.
You will also from time to time be helping the team out with general farm, and stock work.
About You
Are you a practically minded ‘doer’ who is resourceful and open to doing a range of tasks within a farm setting.
You will have:
· Experience in fencing and general maintenance
· Experience in operating tractors or large machines
· A ‘can do’ and ‘team orientated’ attitude
· Ability to work alone and self-manage
· Commitment to high standards of quality and safety
· Current clean full NZ driver’s licence (Extra licences would be beneficial)
The Farm
Mangatoa is one of Pāmu’s top performing properties which is 4,234 effective ha, farming a diverse mix of enterprises which carries 6500 ewes, 2000 hoggets and 500 calving cows. Mangatoa also grows 200 bulls for the dairy industry and winters 3,500 cattle and finishes up to 2000 heifers.
Mangatoa Farm is located west of Kaikohe.
Ten minutes’ drive to town with the school bus at the gate.
