As a Fencer General, you’ll take on diverse responsibilities, from fencing and general farm repairs to building maintenance and machinery operations.
 
You’ll also assist with winter feeding, weed control, and general farm maintenance and stock work as needed.
 
What your day could look like:
 
·         Repair and maintain fences, yards, and buildings
·         Operate machinery: tractors and more
·         Feed livestock: ensure our animals are well cared for
·         Weed control: keep the farm looking its best
·         Water system maintenance: full training provided
·         Assist in the yards, be a vital part of the team
 
You’ll be an essential part of our farm team, this role will be tailored to your strengths, with full training provided.
 
The Farm
Omamari is 1600ha effective hill country farm, specialising in Beef Production. We are currently hoping to finish 2800 predominantly Friesian Bulls annually.
 
Omamari station is located in a beautiful setting just 25 minutes from Kai Iwi Lakes and Ripiro Beach. With Dargaville, only 20 minutes away, primary and secondary schooling are located nearby with the school bus at the gate.  And there is plenty of hunting and fishing in the area.
 
About You
Are you a practically minded ‘doer’ who is resourceful and open to doing a range of tasks within a farm setting.   You may have a trade background or hands-on skill set. While a farming background isn’t necessary, any experience in farming, building, or fencing is a bonus.
 
You will ideally have:
·       Proven experience in fencing and general maintenance
·       Proven experience in operating tractors or large machines
·       Understanding and interest in variety of general farm work
·       A ‘can do’ and ‘team orientated’ attitude
·       Ability to work alone and self-manage
·       Commitment to high standards of quality and safety
·       Current clean full NZ driver’s licence (Extra licences would be beneficial)
