Leadership role at Ruapehu Dairy, which is part of Pāmu’s Motutoa Complex in Foxton.
 
The Opportunity
In this Production Manager (2IC) role, you’ll work in a collaborative team, where the Farm Manager encourages everyone to bring their ideas to the table.
 
This is a true leadership role where you’ll bring your honest approach, strong work ethic, friendly nature, and farm operations expertise to this high performing property. 
 
Role requires anything from planning work, pasture management, farm maintenance, and feeding out.  You’ll confidently delegate work and keep the farm running effectively and efficiently. 
 
You’ll be developing the capability in the team – leading by example, so your ability to be all over the farm system, animal health/ feeding, milking, pasture management to operating machinery, is an important aspect of the role.
 
With the support of the Farm Manager, you’ll help to identify areas where process improvements can be made, and you’ll also receive coaching and development so that you’re able to run the farm when the manager is on leave. The opportunity with this role is not only to learn from the Farm Manager but also from the wider Pāmu team which surrounds this business.
 
The Farm
Ruapehu Dairy is a 262-ha organics property that milks 580 cows through a 60-bail rotary.
 
One of seven neighbouring farms within Moutoa Dairy Complex in Foxton. You can’t beat the location either, being 5 mins from Foxton, 10 minutes from Levin or 25 minutes to Palmerston North.  It’s close to the Manawatu River and has fabulous access to recreational activities.
 
About You 
You’ll be good at planning and will have a strong understanding of dairy operations.
 
This is a senior role, and you will bring:
·         Experience leading a team
·         Proven experience in responsibility for pasture management and staff planning
·         Effective communication skills
·         Strong internal motivation and ability to positively motivate others
·         Ability to operate a range of farm vehicles
·         First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         Restricted or full driver’s licence
·         Confident working with farming software and other farm tech used in day-to-day operations
