Conversion to organic production
Take charge of the farm when the Farm Manager is away

We are one of the largest dairy complexes in New Zealand, and are looking for a Dairy Production Manager (2IC) for Mayflower, one of our farms moving into organic production. Located in the gorgeous Central Plateau and mere minutes away from one of the most desirable outdoor-living locations in the country, you’ll be able to do what you love in a supported environment.

You will be a good communicator, have a demonstrated ability to meet targets, be enthusiastic and feel comfortable in setting a good example for others. As 2IC, you will take on a degree of responsibility for feed allocation and budgeting, animal health and breeding, animal records, and staff guidance and supervision. Conversion to organic production comes with its own challenges, so you need to have a genuine interest in this.

You will bring:
·         Minimum 3-4 years dairy farming experience
·         First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         The ability to work unsupervised in a team environment
·         A desire and ability to lead and support your co-workers, including when the Farm Manager is away
·         Some computer skills and a willingness to learn
·         Excellent time and communication skills
·         Current and full NZ drivers licence

Ideally you would be able to start in early May, so we would be keen to hear about your availability in your application.

We offer an attractive salary with additional benefits, as well as ongoing training and personal development to help you reach your personal and career goals.
