Wellington, New Zealand /
Sustainability and Farming Systems Division – Sustainability and Farming Systems /
Permanent - Off Farm
There’s a renaissance going on in farming, with systems and sustainability being at the core of the transformation of this hugely important sector for the future of New Zealand. We’re recruiting a GM Sustainability & Farming Systems who will be front and centre of this strategy, a key strategic advisor across the business and responsible for the organisation’s commitment to environmental sustainability, animal performance and welfare, agronomy, and the design and implementation of a quality assurance framework and associated digital data dashboard. Pāmu has found innovative and environmentally sustainable approaches to land use and will look to further provide a wider range of agricultural products and services to customers and communities across New Zealand.
This is a newly created role within Pāmu, reporting to the Chief Executive. The GM Sustainability & Farming Systems will partner closely with all parts of the business, from working with the Operations team to inform and drive sustainable business outcomes and performance, to working alongside the business technology team and Quality Manager to lead the continued development of farm analytics and technologies, ensuring that the ‘Pāmu promise’ is ingrained in processes and behaviours to farm level.
To be successful in the role, this person will need to be an enterprise-wide leader as well as the specialist in the environmental and sustainability space – ideally with experience in the primary sector or along the food supply chain. The ability to drive transformation and build relationships at all levels of an organisation is central to this position, providing the vision for Pāmu and leading the implementation of strategic operational change. The GM Sustainability & Farming Systems will be required to build a team, attracting the technical expertise to make Pāmu a global leader in the sector and demonstrate their credibility internally and externally.
