Join our team on Victory Dairy, rearing approximately 220 replacement calves this season.
 
The Opportunity
We need a fixed-term Calf Rearer to join Victory Dairy during our busy calving season and assist our head calf rearer to grow healthy calves for Victory’s future milking herds.
 
As a Calf Rearer, your day-to-day activities may consist of feeding calves, assisting with picking up calves, administering animal health treatments and weighing calves.
 
We have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and have well maintained, up to date farm equipment that you’ll be able to use.
 
The fixed term contract will be from end of June until mid-November. Minimum of 25 hours per week (5 hours a day). Additional hours can be made available if you are willing to help with milkings.
 
The Farm
Milking 950 cows through a 54-bail rotary shed twice a day, there’s a lot going on at Victory Dairy Unit.  This farm has a supportive farm manager and a strong 2IC.  We’re an A2 milk supplier.  Our team all value and consistently demonstrate high standards of animal health and management techniques to continue to yield excellent results.
 
About You
You will have a positive attitude and willingness to learn looking to develop and grow your dairy career. This is a drive in/drive out position, so reliable transport is a must.
 
You will need to have:
•               Be punctual and reliable
•               1-2 years Calf rearing experience (preferred)
•               An exceptional attitude to health and safety and animal welfare
•               Able to lift 20 kg
•               A good eye for detail and a willingness to learn
•               Restricted or full driver’s licence
