As the Dairy Production Manager on Ruapehu Dairy Farm, you’ll work within established procedures and will lead by example with energy and positivity.  As the right hand to the Farm Manager, you’ll help plan and implement daily/weekly tasks, feed allocation, budgeting, animal health, and keep records.

 

You’ll be a key component in the daily operation and will help inform all staff on critical items regarding system changes, feed allocation changes, mechanical breakdowns, health and safety concerns, etc.

 

Ruapehu is a 262-ha property that milks 600 cows through a 60-bail rotary. One of seven neighbouring farms within Moutoa Dairy Complex in Foxton.  You can’t beat the location either, being 5 mins from Foxton, 10 minutes from Levin or 25 minutes to Palmerston North.  It’s close to the Manawatu River and has fabulous access to recreational activities.

 

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about a career in dairy farming, and will bring enthusiasm, energy, and innovation.

 

You will also have:

·  A minimum of 2-3 years dairy experience

·         Strong dairy experience and a drive to continue your learning

·         An affinity and passion for stock, while maintaining accurate record keeping

·         An ability to motivate and coach team members,

·         Proven feed allocation of pasture and supplement knowledge

 

In addition, you’ll have a great work ethic, excellent communication skills and a first-class attitude to health and safety, animal welfare and environmental management.
