We’re looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant at Blairs Dairy Unit, located in the Dobson area of the West Coast. 
 
The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team on Blairs Dairy Unit.

You will join our close-knit team and your main responsibilities will include milking, fencing, feeding out and stock work.  This is an excellent opportunity to secure continuous work in a large farming organisation with opportunity for growth and development.

This farm runs a 6/2 from August to the New Year roster during the peak season and goes to a 6/3 roster for the rest of the year. 

The Farm
At Blairs Dairy, we milk 800 cows in a rotary 60 bail cow shed.  The farm is a humped and hollowed terrain of 450 ha and 435 ha effective with an in-shed feeding/Milkhub System.  We’re part of the Pāmu Weka Dairy Complex on the West Coast, and we have group raft trips, Christmas parties, etc.  There’s a strong community feel in the West Coast Dairy team.
 
About You
The main thing you will bring to this role is a positive can-do attitude, with passion and enthusiasm for dairy farming.
 
Ideally, you will also have:
·         A minimum of 1 seasons’ experience in dairy farming (preferred)
·         First class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Management
·         Great team player and effective communication skills
·         Restricted or full NZ driver’s licence
