Take on a leadership role managing the day-to-day running of Sommervilles Dairy in Reefton
The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Farm Manager or leader looking to take that next step? 
Do you have a passion for growing the land and people around you?
You will manage Sommervilles Dairy - the team of around four people, and the day-to-day operations of the farm and team.
You’ll have the full support of a Business Manager to help you settle into the role and assist in any areas where it’s needed such as financial reporting, planning, or pasture management.  Together you will work to deliver quality results.
We have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and Sommervilles has well maintained, up to date farm equipment.
You will be responsible for:
·           Managing feed, stock, and financial budgets in line with a robust business plan
·           Coaching and mentoring your team members to grow their capability
·           Coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations
·           Reporting regularly on performance and analysing data through ag tech systems
·           Managing risks and solving problems as they arise
The Farm
Somervilles is located in Mawheraiti, 15 minutes from Reefton and 45 minutes from Greymouth. It’s a progressive 500 ha property milking approximately 1,000 cows through a 60 bail rotary shed with ACR’s, MilkHub and an in-shed feeding system.
We run a 6/2 roster during the peak season and goes to a 6/3 roster the rest of the year, with a minimum of 95 hours per fortnight and a maximum of 110 per fortnight.
The location offers easy access to schooling options and a wide range of recreational activities.
About You
You will bring excellent leadership capability, a willingness to learn new systems and you’ll value the same things we do, people, animals, and the environment.
You will also bring:
·           Extensive dairy farming experience
·           Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
·           Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
·           Ability to use farm management technology systems and record keeping equipment
·           Effective time and people management skills
·           First class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Management
·           Current and full NZ driver’s licence
