The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Dairy Assistant who is passionate about the dairy industry, loves cows, and never compromises animal welfare, to join a high performing team on a profitable milk farm.  You will be bringing the cows in for milking, doing the milking, shifting both the cows and the young stock, etc.
 
There’s a great team environment on this farm and Pāmu support their staff by maintaining their farm equipment, providing all personal protective equipment (including footwear) and protective clothing as well as health and safety gear.  You’ll have a great work-life balance with a 6/2 roster (June -Jan) and a 6/3 (Feb – May).
 
The manager and 2IC are very supportive and encourage the team to develop their skills with ITO courses and have their learnings put into practice on-farm.
 
The Farm
Bounty Dairy Unit is a 629-ha property, that winters 1500 cows and milks 1400 through a 60-bail rotary at peak.
 
About You
You will bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn so you can develop your farming skills within a support team environment.
 
You will also have:
·         One season of dairy farming experience
·         An exceptional attitude to health and safety and animal welfare
·         Be punctual and reliable
·         The ability to work unsupervised and good communication skills
·         Take pride in their work and surrounding environment
·         Restricted or full driver’s licence
 
Once you start, we’ll assess your competency and provide training where needed for the farm ute, tractor, two-wheeler, etc., to enable you to complete your tasks.
