Grow your dairy career with this opportunity on the West Coast, develop your management skills as the 2IC on Totara.

You will be the go-to support for the Farm Manager, which will involve stepping in to manage the operations when the Manager is on rostered time off. The key tasks for the role will include taking on responsibility for feed allocation, animal health, budgeting, animal records and mentoring staff.

 

Located in Westport as part of our Cape Foulwind complex, Totara Dairy Unit is a 480 ha property milks 1080 cows through a 60-bail rotary with ACR’s, Milk hub and an in-shed feeding system. Totara currently run a 5/2 roster.

 

You will be a motivated individual with great communication skills to join and support our team as 2IC.

 

You will also have:

·         Sound knowledge/experience across all aspect of dairy operations

·         A positive attitude towards health and safety, and animal welfare

·         Eagerness to learn and get involved in daily work planning

·         Effective communication skills
