The Opportunity
We are looking for a Stock Manager to join our team at Kapiro Station. Kapiro is home to Pamu’s Rangitane angus herd along with a fully recorded sheep flock.  Located 10 minutes from Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands, Kapiro is a 16,000su breeding and finishing and Angus bull breeding property with a mixture of easy and rolling hill country over 1,780ha.
Your responsibilities would be:
·         Assisting the Farm Manager to ensure planning and farming operations are carried out
·         Leading, motivating, and developing a team of shepherds
·         Capturing and maintaining farm data records through Farmax, Farm IQ etc
·         Optimising farm performance and improving processes
About You
We are looking for someone who will fit into our positive, inclusive team culture and lead by example.
You will have:
·         Strong communication skills to build strong working relationships
·         Capability to lead, mentor and train staff (experience is an advantage)
·         Full team of capable dogs
·         High standards when it comes to health and safety and animal welfare
·         Pasture management and feed budgeting
·         Strong animal husbandry skills and ability to manage all animal health
·         High level of self-motivation with a strong and efficient work ethic
·         An understanding of genetics would be an advantage
·         Current, full drivers’ licence
There are requirements for record keeping, so you’ll be comfortable entering data and working with modern farm technology (weigh facilities, Farmax, Farm IQ etc.).  If you are unfamiliar with or haven’t used Farmax or FarmIQ, we’re happy to train a positive, motivated candidate who’s willing to learn. 
Work life balance is very important to us and there are plenty of recreational activities in and around the Bay of Islands.   The role comes with a 3 bedroom plus office family home with internal garage, located only 5-10 minutes from Kerikeri, with local primary and secondary schools nearby (school bus at gate).
