The Opportunity
We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant at Pinta Dairy Unit, you’ll work across a diverse and complex farm.  With a large, positive and enthusiastic team already in place, you’ll be well supported and will benefit by learning from others – and you’ll have the opportunity to share your knowledge as well.   
We have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and have well maintained, up to date farm equipment that you’ll be able to use.
This opportunity starts in May and you’ll have great work-life balance as the team works to a 6/2 roster, with 6/3 for three months of the year.
The Farm
Pinta Dairy Unit is Pāmu’s largest dairy farm, milking 2,100 dairy cows on 877ha through our 80-bail rotary dairy shed, which has been recently upgraded.  This farm has a manager with an open, communicative style – taking care to explain the “why” around decisions so that the team has good context.
About You
You will have a positive attitude, an interest in dairy farming and a willingness to learn, develop and grow your dairy career.
You will also have:
·         The ability to work unsupervised and good communication skills
·         An exceptional attitude to health and safety and animal welfare
·         Take pride in your work and surrounding environment
·         Be punctual and reliable
·         Restricted or full driver’s licence
Two-wheel motorbike experience would be helpful, but we’re happy to provide some training to the right candidate.

Pāmu maintains all its farm equipment and provides safety and wet weather gear to all of their permanent staff.  2-bedroom accommodation is provided.
