We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Indian payroll taxation, Statutory/Labour Laws compliance, and accounting fundamentals.
This role involves coordination with statutory bodies and requires proficiency in dealing with government officers (PF/PT/Income-Tax/Labour Laws) and employees.

What you'll do:
- Process and validate monthly employee payroll in line with Indian tax laws.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, including calculating and remitting payroll taxes.
- Must have experience to prepare PF/PT/TDS/ESIC/NPS working, preparation of challans on pertaining portals, remit & file Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly Returns.
- Collect monthly inputs from HR team verify and ensure to process the accurate payroll.
- Manage end-to-end payroll Software – Create employee Master, create/transfer UAN, NPS account, Register on LWF, update investment declaration etc.
- Manage end-to-end payroll accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Must have knowledge of preparation of Income Tax Computation & preparation of Form 16
- Address employee’s queries independently related to payroll, PF, Income Tax, Payslips, Tax Computations, Form 16
- Liaise with Provident Fund, Professional Tax, Income Tax, Labour Laws etc. authorities for compliances.
- Handel all departmental queries/notices/intimations/Audits, prepare letters, arrange documents, represent before Officers, and accomplish the same.
- Must have experience of collecting, verifying Proof of investments and knowledge of Investment Declarations.
- Coordination with the PF office to facilitate the settlement of pending/current claims.
- Sound knowledge of ESOP and its compliances
- Should have sound experience of Car Lease Scheme and compliances
- Should have knowledge about Insurance policy (GMC/GPA/GTL), addition/deletion working and reconciliation
- Should have knowledge of preparing Gratuity & Leave Encashment working for Actuarial valuation
- Conduct monthly induction sessions for New Joiners & timely Presentation to employees on Investment Declaration, Proof of Investments, ITR, Budget updates etc.
- Prepare payroll reports and support documentation for audits and internal MIS.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness in all payroll-related matters.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, & external consultants for compliance and audit readiness.
- Stay current with Indian taxation and labour law changes impacting payroll.
- Basic knowledge of Accounting, Accounts payable, Journal Entry, TDS, Fixed Assets, Bank Payment Entries etc..
What you must have :
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems such as GreytHR, NetSuite, Tally, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of Indian payroll, Income Tax, Labour Laws taxation/ regulations, and statutory compliance.
- Exposure to accounting principles and payroll-related reconciliations
- Ability to interact with statutory bodies and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Ability to verify the Proofs of Investments and explain to employees and resolve their queries.
- Implementing payroll process improvements and automation, leveraging technology to enhance payroll efficiency & reduce manual interventions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in payroll processing and in finance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.) and MS Office suite.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, strong problem-solving skills and communication skills.
