SoulPancake’s VP, Creative Director will oversee branded video content and design within the Company. Specifically, this charismatic and enthusiastic leader will manage digital content development and ideation for brand partners, while adhering to SoulPancake’s brand guidelines and its signature, differentiated aesthetic. This individual will have a fresh and innovative creative approach to branded entertainment and confidently be able to bring compelling ideas to life.

This role will report directly into the SVP, Head of Creative, and will be responsible for managing a team that works cross-company to provide creative services. This individual must have strong concepting abilities, a proven portfolio of branded video content, and must be a genuine SoulPancake ambassador, who exemplifies SoulPancake’s enthusiastic, creative and can-do culture in all communications and interactions.

Responsibilities

    • Champion the SoulPancake mission, editorial tone/voice and visual style for the Company and all Branded Entertainment efforts
    • Develop and pitch new formats, and content ideas for RFPs/proposals; including potential extensions such as social, experiential, live events etc. whennecessary
    • Anticipate future direction of the Branded Entertainment industry and take actions necessary to keep SoulPancake on the forefront of the changing landscape
    • Facilitate productive brainstorming sessions designed towards generating strong idea seeds, with the intent of shaping the best ideas into sellable packages
    • Must exhibit strong leadership, mentoring, and time management skills -overseeing a small team including a Creative Associate and a Graphic Designer who will work cross-company
    • Participate in client RFPs/brainstorms/creative calls and work with the Sales team to deliver on all creative needs, including written overviews, scripts and beat sheets
    • Review all content that is produced and provide clear feedback to ensure projects stay on mission for SoulPancake and meet client goals
    • Work with the production team to ensure creative vision is executed at a high standard according to what has been sold through
    • Build a network of contributing writers, creatives, directors and producers
    • Work with Graphic Designer to build decks and pitch materials
    • Ability to “razzle dazzle” clients in sales presentations and get them excited about SoulPancake’s creative approach, as well as adjust and/or navigate ideas on the fly when client provides real-time input or feedback
    • Help coach the Sales team to present and “razzle dazzle” clients themselves when Creative team is unavailable or not being used
    • Hold weekly team meetings to ensure goals are met and priorities are set with clear action items and owners
    • Understand the financial implications and budgets needed to produce the content ideas being put in market – ensuring the creative can be produced well while still maintaining strong margins 

Skills & Requirements

    • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in creative development at an agency, studio and/or media company
    • Proven track record and portfolio of successful digital content, particularly on YouTube, Facebook and other like channels
    • Experience in managing all elements of creative development, including writing, graphics, art direction, and editing
    • A compelling storyteller with a clear talent for coming up with concise, emotional, and thoughtful ideas who can think fast on their feet both strategically and creatively
    • Knowledge and passion for video entertainment (including digital video, social and TV/OTT landscape)
    • Fluency in branded content, YouTube, Facebook and viral video language and culture
    • Ability to galvanize teams around culture, activities, and mission
    • Self-starter with strong time-management skills
    • Must have a resilient, tenacious personality, and also a team player (not afraid to get their hands dirty)
