We're seeking a dynamic, efficient Associate Underwriting Operations Manager to support and partner with our rapidly expanding underwriting team. Our technology allows us to automatically underwrite and quote 70% of the accounts we handle. We need an underwriter to handle the remaining 30%—the more intricate cases—using their previous training and experience to make decisions when the system cannot.

We need a professional who can become familiar with and work within our carrier guidelines, as well as with our carrier underwriters and to partner with the underwriting team to deliver post-bind services to our clients. Pathpoint specializes in small commercial E&S businesses.

This is a remote position serving Eastern and Central time zone, requiring availability during normal business hours. Infrequent overnight travel may be required.

What We’re Looking For

1-2 years of small commercial underwriting associate or assistant-level experience with strong technical skills in servicing small commercial accounts in the E&S market.

A confident self-starter who has a strong desire to collaborate and innovate in a remote environment, and communicates respectfully while problem-solving.

Decision-makers who can work autonomously, are unafraid to make and learn from mistakes and are comfortable asking for help.

Ability to accurately prioritize a high task volume in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines.

Strong digital literacy is required, with a comfort level in learning and adapting to the use of unfamiliar systems or software.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and unwavering ethics. The small things matter in our highly-regulated and nuanced industry.

Experience providing support to Underwriters by preparing information for a variety of reports and documents, processing inquiries and forms and communicating with outside sources such as inspection companies and outsource vendors.

Nice to Have

Experience with Slack, Salesforce, G-suite and Notion.

Familiarity with a fast-paced startup environment.

What You'll Do

Work closely with Account Managers and Underwriters to meet the needs of the client

Manage a region of the U.S., servicing renewal and existing accounts.

Communicate with your team members utilizing digital communication tools such as Slack, Salesforce

Use carrier systems to service accounts.

Maintain accurate and complete documentation for your accounts, as per Pathpoint and carrier requirements.

Collaborate with the Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams to assist in automating and improving the submission, quoting, binding, and servicing experience for retail agents.
