We’re rapidly scaling our core offering and are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and strategic individual to drive our field operations efforts across the organization. You will report to the VP of Production and will build and execute the company’s soil sampling strategy. This includes negotiating and executing service contracts, hiring and training samplers, and overseeing the day-to-day sampling operations. You will be asked to work cross-functionally to ensure that the company is delivering a first-class customer experience throughout the customer lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience and a strong hands-on operations background. This opportunity will provide broad exposure to the sales, customer success, finance, and product teams within a high growth technology business as it scales to widespread adoption.
Location: Remote from the U.S. Midwest
Responsibilities
- Own the process of sampling execution with servicing vendors
- Source sampling vendors and negotiate service contracts
- Manage day-to-day operations of dispatching sampling assignments between multiple sampling organizations to meet company’s ambitious turnaround targets
- Develop and execute in-season strategies to account for changes in weather and field conditions to align with expected timelines and goals
- Manage relationships between samplers and Pattern
- Meet weekly (or as needed) with samplers to manage current week and subsequent sampling plans
- Provide input for annual sampler contract and pricing changes
- Train and sampler organizations on Pattern’s applications and associated updates as needed
- Report sampling projections and timelines to internal teams and company leadership
- Track sampler efficiency and adjust deployment as needed
- Support sales team in delivering best-in-class customer experience
- Work with Pattern’s product and engineering teams to define the specifications for sampling and sampler dispatching tools
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in an operations and strategy or project management role, or demonstrated excellence in a high-paced startup environment
- Previous experience in fast-paced operational or project management role
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong contract negotiation skills
- Previous experience tracking and hitting high-stakes KPIs
- Comfort with data analysis, interpretation, and presentation
- Strategic planning skills required
