About the role
Payabli is on a mission to redefine embedded payments. We’re looking for a Head of Product who brings deep domain expertise in payments and thrives on execution. This role isn’t about lofty visions that never materialize. It’s about driving outcomes, delivering reliable products, and scaling a platform that customers truly love. You’ll lead product strategy and execution across acquiring, issuing, and platform services, owning delivery end-to-end. As a key member of the executive team, you’ll inspire, mentor, and hold the bar high for a growing product organization while rolling up your sleeves to ensure we hit goals in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Key Responsibilities

    • Own product strategy and execution across acquiring, issuing, merchant onboarding/KYC/AML, settlements, fraud/risk, and platform services.
    • Deliver results: drive complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through launch, fast, reliable, and always focused on outcomes.
    • Scale and mentor a high-performing product team, setting a culture of ownership, accountability, and customer-centricity.
    • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, risk, and business teams to build resilient, high-performance payments systems (processing, directory services, messaging, fraud prevention).
    • Represent product externally with banks, processors, vendors, and internally with the board and executive team.
    • Balance today and tomorrow: prioritize reliability and scalability while laying the groundwork for innovation.

What We’re Looking For

    • Proven track record leading product at scale (Director/Head/VP) in top-tier payments or fintech companies (e.g., Stripe, Square, Adyen, PayPal).
    • Deep domain expertise in payments (acquiring and issuing required); strong grasp of the full ecosystem including onboarding/KYC/AML, billing/settlements, fraud/risk, and remittances.
    • Execution-focused operator who thrives in complexity and brings clarity to fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
    • Credible leader with “been there, done that” experience, able to command respect and inspire senior PMs and engineers.
    • Experience scaling API-based platforms or embeddable services; hardware/payments device experience is a plus.
    • International payments and FBO bank/processor integration experience is a plus.
    • Startup or venture-backed DNA with an entrepreneurial mindset, ambitious, comfortable with resource constraints.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
