This role
Join one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in Latin America as our Sr. Tax Manager for Mexico.
You’ll be the company’s senior authority on Mexican tax compliance and strategy — leading our relationship with the SAT, overseeing our outsourced tax compliance provider, and ensuring we remain fully compliant while supporting our growth.
This is not a back-office compliance role — it’s a strategic, high-visibility position where you’ll partner with product, legal, and finance leaders to shape how new products and business initiatives are structured from a tax perspective. You’ll anticipate changes in tax law, manage risks, and advise senior leadership on the best path forward.
If you have deep expertise in Mexican tax law, thrive on solving complex compliance challenges, and want to make a measurable impact in a dynamic fintech environment, this is your opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all statutory tax obligations in Mexico (income tax, VAT, payroll taxes, etc.) by managing and reviewing the work of our outsourced tax provider.
- Ensure timely, accurate filings and payments, with zero compliance gaps.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the SAT and other tax authorities.
- Lead the strategy and management of audits, inquiries, and disputes.
- Evaluate and guide the tax implications of new products, services, and transactions to ensure they are compliant and tax-efficient.
- Advise senior management on evolving tax laws and business impacts.
- Identify potential tax risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Maintain proactive oversight to ensure the business is always audit-ready.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and Product teams to integrate tax considerations into decision-making from the start.
- Deliver clear, actionable updates to leadership on compliance status, risks, and opportunities.
