About the role: 

We’re looking for a TechOps / Senior TechOps Engineer to join our Payment Gateway (PG) Team, primarily focusing on production/application support, and technical operations. In this role, you’ll monitor critical payment systems, manage system stability, and provide top-tier production support for high-traffic applications. This position requires technical expertise, quick
troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive approach to system monitoring. As a key player in maintaining and enhancing our system performance, you’ll ensure a seamless experience for our users, especially during peak times and critical operations. Off-hours support availability is essential.

Expectations/ Requirements:

● Production and Application Support:
Provide hands-on production and application support to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operation of critical payment gateway systems.
● Technical Operations and Monitoring:
Implement, manage, and optimize system monitoring for reliable system health metrics, tracking KPIs, and ensuring timely issue identification and resolution.
● System Troubleshooting and Debugging:
Identify, debug, and resolve production incidents by investigating root causes and implementing preventive measures for future stability.
● Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with teams such as Product, Tech, and Core PG to troubleshoot issues, enhance performance, and refine support processes.
● Metrics and KPI Tracking:
Regularly monitor and analyze data on merchant integrations, feature usage, payment sources, and other critical metrics to inform proactive system improvements.
● Incident Management and On-Call Support:
● Participate in on-call rotations, track incidents, and provide support during off-hours as needed to ensure swift response to critical issues and maintain system stability.

Superpowers that will help you succeed in the role:

● Proficiency with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch) and Kubernetes (EKS).
● Strong experience with Linux environments and familiarity with SQL for troubleshooting and monitoring database-related issues
● Knowledge of Python or Bash Scripting to automate repetitive tasks.
● Experience with Java-based web services and microservices architecture.
● Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
● Understanding of GIT and release management processes.
● Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
● Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with an ability to convey technical information clearly.
● High adaptability and ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
● Capable of working independently, as well as a team player in a collaborative environment.
● Flexibility to respond to system alerts and production issues outside of standard working hours.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
● Experience: Minimum of 1.5+ years in TechOps, Production Support (or equivalent work experience).
