About the role

    • As a Standard DBA, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, performance, and security of our database environments. As part of the infrastructure and DB Team, you will manage both development and production databases, working to ensure availability, integrity, and efficiency across our systems. You will implement initiatives to support the growth and proper functioning of the business, ensuring that database operations scale effectively and align with organizational goals. This role is ideal for a mid-level professional looking to deepen their skills in managing relational and non-relational databases and supporting mission-critical applications in a regulated or high-performance setting like FinTech.

What you will do

    • Manage and maintain databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle in production and development environments.
    • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize speed and reliability.
    • Perform regular maintenance tasks including indexing, performance optimization and patching.
    • Support database security practices including access controls, encryption, and audits.
    • Help implement disaster recovery plans and high-availability solutions.
    • Assist in designing and updating schemas, stored procedures, and queries in collaboration with development teams.
    • Participate in database deployments as part of CI/CD pipelines.
    • Monitor logs, alerts, and usage trends, and respond to incidents as needed.
    • Document processes, configurations, and database workflows for team use.
    • Implement initiatives to support the growth and proper functioning of the business.

What you need to succeed

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
    • 2–5 years of experience working as a DBA or in a database operations role.
    • Hands-on experience with at least one major RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
    • Experience with MongoDB
    • Solid understanding of database performance tuning, backups, and security.
    • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
    • Working knowledge of database monitoring tools and logging systems.
    • Good understanding of relational data modeling and SQL optimization.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Strong soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
    • Familiarity with Cloud environments.
    • English proficiency: Intermediate/Advanced (B1–B2).
