FinCrime Monitoring is a strategic function within our Operations Department, acting as a frontline defense in the detection, prevention, and mitigation of financial crime across PayU's EMEA merchant portfolio. The team monitors activity patterns and works to minimize risks related to AML, fraud, sanctions exposure, and credit defaults. 

As a FinCrime Monitoring Manager you will play a key role in strengthening our AML/CFT operations and building a best-in-class FinCrime monitoring function. You’ll oversee daily transaction monitoring and help shape the broader FinCrime prevention strategy. 

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who combines deep FinCrime expertise with a structured, analytical, and risk-based approach to operational oversight. 

Key responsibilities:

    • Act as a FinCrime subject matter expert (AML, fraud, sanctions, merchant abuse)and escalation point for complex merchant risk cases 
    • Lead key projects and process improvements; own initiatives end-to-end to ensure high-impact delivery, efficiency, and scalability 
    • Oversee and continuously optimizemonitoring processes, including automation and standardization; identify gaps and implement robust solutions  
    • Drive innovation and operational excellence, ensuring processes align with evolving regulatory expectations, emerging typologies, FinCrime threats and business needs 
    • Coach, mentor, and lead a team of analysts responsible for merchant monitoring and transaction reviews 
    • Co-operate with Regulators, Legal, Compliance, Business and Technology Departments to improve merchant monitoring processes to the highest standards 
    • Draft and maintain internal procedures and playbooks for FinCrime transaction monitoring and alert handling 
    • Deliver FinCrime reporting and insights, including KPIs on control effectiveness, alert performance, quality and risk trends  

What we’re looking for:

    • 5+years of experience in AML/FinCrime, ideally in fintech or high-risk environments 
    • Strong people leadership skills; proven ability to lead operational teams in fast paced environment while keeping up with business priorities 
    • Excellent understanding of AML/CFT regulations, policies, procedures 
    • Practical experience with fraud typologies, suspicious behavior detection, and merchant abuse scenarios 
    • Proven track record of building and delivering improvement projects in the AML/FinCrime area on a company level 
    • Skilled in tools like Excel, Tableau; SQL/Python is a plus 
    • Strong decision-making skills in high-volume, risk-sensitive environments 
    • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Polish
