Role Overview: 

Join an energetic team as a Test Automation Engineer (Software Engineer in Test) at PDI, where you'll play a key role in ensuring high software quality throughout the project lifecycle. You'll work closely with product owners, architects, and engineers on Agile teams, focusing on maximizing test coverage, measurability, and defect prevention through automation. Although you won't write production code, you'll develop tools, mocks, and tests to improve quality. You'll also collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance CI integration and automate reporting on project quality metrics like code coverage and test surface coverage.

Key Responsibilities

    • Set up test environments for client and web applications, services, and databases, and prepare Automation Test Plans for Service Level, Integration, and UI tests.
    • Participate in Agile ceremonies, release planning, and be accountable for sprint deliverables, including smoke, feature, and regression test planning.
    • Design and build automation for smoke, feature, and regression tests, while reviewing code for testability, supportability, and unit test coverage.
    • Write BDD feature use cases to drive automated and manual test case creation, and build mocks, emulators, fakes, and stubs to achieve full acceptance test coverage.

Qualifications

    • 2-5 years of experience in software development, automation, and SQL-based RDBMS (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server)
    • Proficiency in two or more of the following: WCF, .NET WebAPI, Selenium/Appium, Coded UI, MS Automation UI
    • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps tools, and network, Windows, web application, and database setup
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
    • Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure
    • Experience with one or more mainstream programming languages: C#, Java, Node.js/JavaScript, Go, Python
    • Experience writing functional E2E automation tests

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with BDD, Gherkin language (SpecFlow, Cucumber)
    • Experience with multi-tenant architecture, infrastructure security, and routing
    • Familiarity with Fuel Retail, Wholesale, or Logistics domains
