Role Overview
PDI Technologies is seeking a talented and motivated Full Time Data Engineer IV to join our elite agile data services team responsible for developing and maintaining our industry-leading cloud-based big data and data analytics infrastructure serving major global fortune 500 companies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in coding data pipelines, administering databases, and working with business users to understand and meet their data requirements. This role involves maintaining high performance and security of our data systems, performing quality assurance, and supporting the company’s data infrastructure, primarily using AWS, Snowflake and DBT.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and oversee large-scale data infrastructure projects.
- Develop strategic data initiatives to support business goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor the engineering team.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, reliability, security, and compliance of data systems.
- Lead the development of advanced data pipelines, ETL processes, and backup/recovery plans.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
- Maintain documentation of data architectures and workflows.
- Implement industry standards and best practices.
- Provide high-level support and troubleshooting for critical data issues.
- Plan, estimate, and allocate resources for major data projects.
- Develop strategies for data management, distribution, archiving, and performance optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, including designing and managing complex data architectures, developing and optimizing ETL pipelines, and ensuring data integrity, security, and performance in large-scale systems.
- Expert knowledge of SQL, programming languages, and data warehousing technologies.
- Extensive experience with Snowflake and DBT (Data Build Tool).
- Extensive experience in Cloud, such as AWS, GCP or Azure
- Proven track record of leading data engineering projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Domain experience in the Convenience Retail Industry, ERP, Logistics or Financial transaction processing solutions
- Certifications such as Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification, dbt Certification, AWS Certified Data Analytics are a plus.
