About the Department:  Peek's Payments Operations team takes pride in helping to create scalable financial solutions with the utmost accuracy and completeness for a thriving mature startup B2B SaaS software development business. As a small remote team, we work closely together to support each other through regular team syncs and cross-training responsibilities. 

About the Role: We are looking for someone to join our team who is passionate about preventing online fraud. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Within the first two weeks, you will complete product onboarding and familiarize yourself with all of the internal systems. Within one month you will be up to speed on the dispute submission process. These duties include assuming responsibility for a high volume, full-cycle chargeback process during the company’s peak season.

Responsibilities:

    • Identify and directly improve fraud and risk gaps for incoming payment related activities.
    • Work across Peek business teams to proactively mitigate merchant/partner fraud issues.
    • Set and administer transactional fraud rules.
    • Partner with Payment Disputes, Customer Support, and Product teams to craft and deploy scalable risk mitigation tactics.
    • Advise and mentor your peers across the payments team to decrease fraud losses.
    • Use advanced data analysis and pattern recognition to identify and prevent fraud.
    • Support the creation and maintenance of fraud performance metrics and KPI’s.
    • Keep business leadership apprised of the latest fraud trends, and tactics.
    • Ensure Peeks risk mitigation payment tools and processes remain compliant with card associations and regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

    • 4-6 years of experience in financial services, tech, or related industry. Prior experience in Risk, Fraud, Credit, or Trust and Safety teams
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
    • Effective interpersonal and team skills with the ability to thrive in a remote position
    • Proven track record of developing solutions that balance risk with providing best-in-class customer experience
    • Experience performing link analysis and investigation of fraud data
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with customers in a clear and concise manner
    • Past experience working in a rapidly scaling organization
    • Strong working knowledge of industry fraud techniques and tools
    • Experience performing intelligence gathering research from public sources, research databases, and other analytical tools

Nice to Haves:

    • Previous experience with common corporate systems such as: MacOS, Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word in particular), gSuite/Google, Slack, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox, and other comparable tools
    • Knowledge of the payments industry and digital transaction compliance standards.
    • SQL or other similar data query language skills.
    • International fraud mitigation experience.
