Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations Strategy to lead the optimization of our supply chain and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering and supply chain planning. This role requires integrating complex manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, and quality control to drive ERP implementations (MES/MRP), manage cross-functional initiatives, and identify opportunities to reduce lead times and costs across our network.
What You'll Do:
- Systems integration: Drive the implementation and optimization of ERP systems (Material Requirements Planning, Manufacturing Execution System, and Supply Chain Planning software) to enhance supply chain planning and execution. Collaborate with operations, data and systems, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of systems and processes.
- Cross-Functional Program Management: Lead and execute multi-disciplinary initiatives involving manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance. Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders that align with our annual planning objectives.
- Cost and Lead Time Reduction: Analyze the supply chain network to identify areas for cost savings and lead time reductions. Lead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of strategies to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Long-term network planning: Create analysis and the network design that supports future capacity planning efforts. This includes leading capital planning efforts alongside finance and working closely with operations to understand and mitigate core bottlenecks across our supply chain.
- Company Planning and Presentations: Support strategic annual planning for the entire operations team, including working with finance to ensure operational inputs are aligned with our financial plan of record. Present updates on strategic projects to senior leadership
- Process Optimization: Lead the design and implementation of efficient supply chain processes within our internal manufacturing network and external CMOs. Identify and implement lean methodologies to streamline operations and reduce waste.
- Quality Integration: Work closely with the quality team to ensure that all processes meet regulatory and company standards. Incorporate quality control measures into supply chain processes.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team. Mentor and develop team members to foster professional growth.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain process engineering, planning, industrial engineering, or related experience. Preferred experience in biotech or the pharmaceutical space, or other industries with highly complex manufacturing and supply chains.
- Proven experience with internal manufacturing processes and managing a complex supply chain network of CDMOs and CMOs.
- Deep understanding of supply chain planning flows and ERP systems (MES/MRP/SCM preferred).
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.
- Excellent program management skills with a track record of managing cross-functional projects.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Highly analytical with a broader and strategic perspective of the business.
