Position Summary:

We are seeking a Director of Manufacturing to lead a growing team of manufacturing associates, shift supervisors and planners to enable Pendulum’s growing demand. The ideal candidate loves to lead teams to optimize performance and efficiency, work cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain and HR, and maintain organized planning and communication.This person thrives in a fast-paced, lean and collaborative environment where they balance the need for process with the need for agility during high growth. 

What You'll Do:

    • Lead the manufacturing team to improve efficiencies and lower costs while ensuring product is manufactured under 21 CFR Part 117 regulations.
    • Collaborate with cross functional departments, including Quality, Supply Chain, R&D and Finance, to ensure production output and on-time delivery targets are achieved.
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts on challenging manufacturing issues with the process or facility.
    • Ensure execution, completion and review of manufacturing documentation including batch production records, quality system documents and reports.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions as required for process-related issues and ensure that deviations and CAPAs are closely monitored and closed out appropriately.
    • Work alongside the Production Manager to plan, schedule and review workload of exempt and non-exempt workforce to ensure production schedules, shifts and delivery objectives are achieved cost effectively.
    • Ensure that the production floor has the necessary manpower, competence, skills, knowledge, space and equipment required to achieve production objectives.
    • Create and report KPIs to the leadership and executive teams.
    • Develop and execute capacity and staffing plans to achieve supply plan requirements.
    • Apply continuous improvement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, lead time, and utilization.
    • Attract, train and develop exceptional talent.
    • Ensure applicable company policies and procedures are followed.
    • Deploy the latest engineering and manufacturing technologies and facilities designs to develop and execute equipment and space plans.
    • Work with marketing and finance teams to provide accurate forecasts that are planned and coordinated across sales, inventory, production and cost metrics.

Knowledge Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Engineering; advanced degree preferred
    • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, including a food or pharmaceutical FDA-registered cGMP plant setting, with 7 years in leadership positions
    • Experience in a growing, scaling company with a both a strong collaborative attitude and self-starting mindset always looking to optimize
    • Experience with ERP, QMS and MES systems, health and safety requirements and best practices.
    • Experienced team leader knowledgeable about team building, HR and workforce planning for both exempt and non-exempt employees
    • Strong problem solving abilities, customer service mindset, and excellent communication skills
