Are you an experienced IT Software Developer seeking a new opportunity within a trusted and forward-thinking company? Do you want to apply your experience to a role where you can influence business processes? 
 
We currently have an exciting new opportunity available for an IT Software Developer to join our team working in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, you will receive a starting salary of up to £46,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
 
About the role:
 
As an IT Software Developer, you will design, deliver and enhance applications and interfaces. This includes configuring, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle.  You will provide tactical responses to urgent requirements and be flexible, working on a wide range of activities including large transformational programmes where required.
 
You will support the organisation with process definition, implementation and change where appropriate, to maximise the effectiveness of new solutions you deliver. The role requires you maintain a knowledge and skill level appropriate to this specialist area.
 

What you'll be doing:

    • Designing, building and implementing solutions to enhance our ability to serve our customers
    • Consistently writing, translating, and coding software programs and applications according to specifications
    • Recommending and undertaking modifications to improve security, efficiency, reliability, and performance
    • Authoring and updating user manuals, guides and other appropriate support and maintenance documentation
    • Providing third-line response for complex problems, performing monitoring, diagnosis, and root cause analysis
    • Coordinating and collaborating with network, infrastructure, security and system administration functions in response to incidents, problems and changes
    • Ensuring adherence to department information security policies
    • Growing your skills through formal training, self-directed learning and continual professional development

What we are looking for:

    • A degree, ideally within an IT or mathematics related subject, or equivalent experience
    • Relevant development qualifications and training, especially in programming and solution design
    • Technical experience in web technologies, programming languages, database query languages, API development and Integration, including C# .NET / .NET Core, Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, Angular and SQL Server
    • Technical ability to understand complex issues and convert into clear action plans/programmes of work
    • Ability to work across departments/teams, interacting with technical staff and senior stakeholders alike
