We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an Apprentice Project Manager to join our team working in Exeter. You will join us on a full-time Apprenticeship, and in return, you will receive a salary of £17,000 per annum, rising to £20,000 after 1 year's service, plus an excellent range of benefits, ongoing development and training for a long-term career with us.

About the role:
You will be working in our Waste Water team under the guidance of skilled professionals to provide end-to-end support within our Environmental Permitting team. The role is a key one to ensure compliance, and involves maintaining permit records, applications and other administrative processes. You'll also have the opportunity to complete a Level 4 Associate Project Manager qualification via our training partner Exeter College. The business will give you one full day a week to study the qualification, and it will be fully funded by our apprentice training budget.
What you'll be doing:
- Submitting applications for new environmental permits and variations to existing permits
- Liaising with the Environment Agency as and when needed
- Organising and updating information related to permits and permit changes
- Process permit costs and other financial tasks
- Provide support to internal teams in locating environmental permits and related information
- Produce site layout plans
- Assist with bulk changes on permits database
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual waste reports
- Coordinate mandatory external training for managers of waste permitted sites
- Provide cover and support for the Environmental Permitting Manager when needed
What we are looking for:
- 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths, at Grade 4/Grade C or above
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- Interest in environmental issues
- Able to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team
- A strong understanding of Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good communication skills
- The ability to prioritise work in accordance with changing demands
- Eager to develop professionally and train in technical competencies when needed
