We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an Apprentice Data Analyst to join our Energy and Carbon Department in Exeter. You will join us on a full-time, 2-year apprenticeship, and in return, you will receive a competitive apprentice salary of £17,000 per annum, rising to £20,000 after 12 months, plus an excellent range of benefits, ongoing development, and training for a long-term career with us.

About the role:
 
As our Apprentice Data Analyst, you will be a key part of our Energy team, collaborating to provide support across a range of projects in data management and efficiency reporting. You will work closely with existing data analysts and liaise with energy team members, internal stakeholders and third parties.
 
On this apprenticeship the candidate will be given the equivalent of 1 day a week to work towards the qualification while also learning on the job. We will provide structured learning opportunities, which will allow you to support tasks in a progressive way, gradually becoming more confident and independent throughout your apprenticeship.

What you'll be doing:

    • Completing a fully funded, industry-recognised qualification (Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship, via our training partner Exeter College). 
    • Supporting with data requests and data management within the Energy and Carbon Department
    • Supporting with the control of data for business wide reporting, including carbon and ESG targets.
    • Supporting with the invoice validation of energy and utility bills across Pennon Group
    • Complete performance reporting of renewables assets
    • Supporting energy management continual improvement goals.
    • Supporting with budgeting and price modelling
    • Undertake Site visits where required
    • Supporting and delivering in-house administrative procedures. 

What we're looking for:

    • Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent
    • A-Levels (or equivalent) in Maths, Statistics, Sciences, or IT is desirable, or the ability to demonstrate similar interests in data analytics
    • Computer literate, including experience of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel)
    • Willing to learn analytical languages such as SQL and VBA
    • Happy to work on own initiative and as part of a team
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Well organised, with a methodical approach to workload and an ability to prioritise tasks
    • Excellent attention to detail with well-honed problem-solving skills
    • Ideal for an individual who is looking to develop their skills to start a long and rewarding career
