Momentum Analytics:
Penta’s Momentum team helps clients anticipate and act on emerging cultural, political, and consumer trends. We identify under-the-radar ideas, map their trajectories, and develop creative, research-driven strategies that help brands and organizations stay ahead of change.

Blending social listening, proprietary tools, and primary research, the team advises on everything from campaign messaging and thought leadership to brand positioning and issue advocacy. Our work is dynamic, collaborative, and oriented toward What’s Next.

Position Summary:
Penta is seeking a Senior Analyst with 2-4 years of experience to join the Momentum team in New York City. This is a client-facing role focused on leading research engagements, developing insights, and helping clients respond to evolving stakeholder expectations and cultural dynamics.

As a Senior Analyst, you'll blend data science, analytics, and innovative research methodologies to bring insights to life. This role is 80% analytics and 20% strategy, emphasizing project management, research design, insights and analysis. Duties & Responsibilities:
Research & Analysis:
- Utilize storytelling skills to deeply analyze data.
- Synthesize data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Translate business objectives into research steps, designing and structuring questionnaires, and analyzing data (qual and quant) from custom research projects.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Collaborate across teams, leading projects, and mentoring analysts.
- Interact with vendors, track deliverables, and manage external processes.
- Manage pieces of larger projects or single/small projects from scoping to completion.
- Support client research needs, contributing innovative ideas that exceed client expectations.
Project Management:
- Lead in survey design, questionnaire and discussion guide development.
- Manage projects across multiple client accounts simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery.
- Proactively manage senior staff and research operations, maintaining project schedules.
Data Analysis & Presentation:
- Analyze data, identify trends, and simplify complex information into user-friendly formats.
- Apply critical thinking skills to translate information into actionable intelligence.
- Prepare and present reports to elite clients and management.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in social sciences or humanities such as psychology, political science, economics, statistics, communications, marketing, journalism or other relevant field.
- 2-4 years of experience in research, strategy, insights, communications, or public affairs agency.
- Experience driving strategic research engagements with exposure to a blend of methodologies (e.g., surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, social listening, secondary trend analysis).
- Strong comfort with data analysis and data-informed strategy; familiarity with platforms like Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Qualtrics, Tableau, or SPSS is a plus.
- Some experience or strong interest in working with clients, with developing skills in presentation and storytelling.
- Demonstrated ability to generate and apply insights to brand, reputation, campaign, or messaging strategies.
- Strong time management and project management skills with an ability to balance competing priorities.
- Collaborative, curious, and proactive approach to work.

Salary Range:
The base salary range for this position will be $75,000 - $95,000 depending on a candidate’s experience and qualifications as it relates to the position.

Location and Hybrid Schedule:
For this position, we are only considering applicants in New York City and looking to fill the role as soon as possible. This person will be expected to join our team in our NYC office in person Monday through Thursday and has the option to work remotely on Fridays.
