We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our growing team, technical strategy and delivery. You’re a hands-on, technical leader who builds great products, drives velocity, and nurtures a team environment of high accountability and inclusion to get the best out of everyone.

Our levelling 🪜
The salary band for this L5-6 role is £135-160k. Titles and compensation at Pento are dependent on our internal levelling (L1-6), which we'll assess and talk more about throughout the interview process.

The role 💬

    • Launch products. You’ll design and deliver a modern technology strategy for efficient and sustainable growth. Your expertise will see us evolve our approach to technology and see us continue to build new and exceptional product features and improvements, while maintaining the quality and experience for our existing customers.
    • Drive the growth of our Engineering team. We’ll rely on you pre-empting what's around the corner, while maximising what we can achieve today with the team we have. You’ll be a visible, hands-on leader, driving daily decision making and needle-moving progress.
    • Drive a culture of impact and candour. Our mission is ambitious and underpinned by our Principles. As we scale, not only will you help us hire into and grow our Engineering team, you’ll create a culture centred on accountability and intentionality.

The hiring process 📝
We believe it’s important that prospective leadership hires meet a number of people on the team and engage in many wide-ranging conversations. While we’ll keep the core stages to a tight few (and we’ll share a full breakdown once we commence the process), please expect some more informal discussions to take place, especially with Jonas, our CEO, and the wider Executive team. We’ll arrange an in-person meet amongst it all, also.
