As a Therapy Development Specialist, you will play an integral part in growing Penumbra in Latin America by supporting the Marketing Manager in developing downstream strategy and execution initiatives across multiple regions. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient management of a multi-state geography to drive education programs, identifying opportunities and developing resources. The ideal candidate will excel at creatively addressing a wide array of stakeholder and customer needs and identifying the strategies and tools most appropriate to achieve the agreed upon goals. The Specialist will be the leader of the therapy development and partner with sales management and the sales force to connect key initiatives to physician customers. The Therapy Development Specialist will have significant interaction with the field-based sales force, medical societies, and must work collaboratively to assess the effectiveness of programs and resources. The role will provide consistent follow through to ensure that programs are impactful to physician customers, local/regional societies, and the local sales teams.

What You’ll Work On
• Act as a regional VTE care path expert, driving improved care path knowledge across the regional teams while supporting a broad number of customers. These may include treating and managing physicians, administration, staff, and other personnel to drive VTE program optimization by acting as a liaison between PEN and all key stakeholders. Must be able to prioritize key account work across multiple regions.
• Represent marketing as key point of contact within a defined Sales region.
• Develop business cases, strategies, and plans for targeted marketing and growth initiatives through innovative core field marketing programs, local conference support, and deployment of tools/programs for procedural and practice success to raise therapy awareness in assigned region.
• Lead the development of downstream activities and execute agreed upon marketing plan in conjunction with Sales and regional marketing team.
• Develop and execute education and clinical care path strategies and drive clinical program development plans through innovative field education programs.
• Support the execution of managing physician and patient education events working closely with regional marketing team as well as sales leadership/sales team.
• Be the expert in procedural knowledge, messaging, and collateral that is relevant to raising therapy awareness and competitive account initiatives.
• Be the expert in clinical data related to the particular therapy and stay current with data to incorporate into messaging for raising therapy awareness.
• Support the regional team to drive local PR initiatives related to the launch of products working with hospital marketing, Penumbra global marketing team, and Penumbra communications team to drive therapy awareness in the local market
• Develop understanding of patient and clinician insights within the therapy, including patient and managing physician behavior along patient pathway.
• Identify, organize, and execute local/regional tradeshows & conferences and other meetings to promote the product.
• Utilize analytic methods to establish/evaluate all related activities, including analysis and recommendation of new opportunities, and adapt processes and strategies, as necessary.
• Lead the regional team in promoting and maintaining the Penumbra brand raising therapy awareness within assigned region.
• Collect and share intelligence with the management team on relevant competitive products, activities and/or therapies for relevant products.
• Ensure that all marketing activities conform to company guidelines and local laws.

What You Contribute
• A Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of progressive responsibilities and experience in managing program development, quality initiatives, and LEAN Sigma engagements in the hospital or medical device field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
• Experience in project management from design to execution, following all the steps and managing different stakeholders.
• Healthcare professional who has previous experience in PERT, VTE or Stroke coordination or has worked with the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or a related practice area is highly preferred.
• Experience developing and executing strategic customer initiatives and growth plans. MBA/MPH degree a plus, may be substituted with relevant experience such as 4+ years of experience in a medical device field-based role and/or marketing. Travel 50%+.

Working Conditions
General remote work environment. Business travel (across Brazil) at least 50-75% of the time (based on geographic assignment). Able to lift 20 pounds. Extended periods of time doing computer-based work. Hearing, sight and speaking ability. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Ability to use computers and CT reconstruction programming. Ability to travel extensively by car and plane. Wear a lead apron for long periods of time (2-3hrs on average). Ability to operate a moving vehicle. Ability to work in Cath Labs or ORs with radiation exposure. Ability to conduct company business outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, work-schedule. Environmental Exposures: Infectious disease; radiation; blood borne pathogens. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
