With 24/7 support of world-class DBAs, we are able to deliver the highest quality support to customers around the world. From incidents and outages handling through a variety of projects executions to proactive recommendations for environments’ improvements - These are our objectives that aim at customers’ satisfaction and translates to customers’ business results.

This is a fully remote role.

What You Will Do

    • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues of moderate complexity related to their Postgres environments
    • Develop relationships with customers, comprehend and fulfill their needs, and maintain their satisfaction through regular communication and engagement with their environments
    • Perform technical work that requires planning and scheduling to ensure the best possible solution is delivered on time
    • React on incidents and provide solutions aimed at maintaining environments’ stability, performance, and scalability
    • Work in a fast-paced environment where we are responsible for companies’ most critical systems.
    • Work remotely; there is no central office, and most people work from their homes
    • Participate in on call rotation to support our customers 24x7x365 for any operational issues that may arise
    • Communicate with our customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner
    • Provide constructive feedback, both internally and externally, with the aim of continually improving

Your Experience: Technical

    • 2+ years experience working with Postgres Databases, including all aspects of installation/configuration, performance tuning, etc
    • Advanced understanding of Linux OS
    • Ability to use SSH to connect to remote systems with password & public/private keys
    • Deep understanding of systems performance
    • Understand automation concept to speed up the work: ansible
    • Advanced knowledge on Postgres internals
    • Experience implementing high availability by setting up either streaming replication or logical replication and decoding
    • Knows how to optimize queries/schemas
    • Knows backup solutions and strategies
    • Knows HA solutions and strategies
    • Knows proxy usage as it relates to Postgres 
    • Ability to troubleshoot methodically, identifying and applying fixes for known errors, and when necessary, capacity to think outside of the box to resolve complex issues

Your Experience: Non-Technical

    • Ability to individually assess customer/environment impact of requested changes
    • Ability to learn quickly if out of depth, knows when to ask for help
    • Great at use of mining information from reference materials
    • Must speak/write in fluent English
    • Ability to work well with people and communicate effectively both internally and with customers
    • Ability to communicate information to staff members and customers in a clear and concise manner
    • Positive, helpful and supportive
    • Able to work well under pressure
    • Some travel will be required for internal meetings (when it is safe to do so)
    • Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection is required

    • Knows Percona tools and PMM
    • Kubernetes expertise
    • Cloud and DBaaS experience 
    • Systems and network administration knowledge 
    • Experience in a managed service provider model 
    • Flexibility in time zone coverage
Working hours depending on the timezone ( in UTC )
Mandatory shift hours (+2 hours extra that may be served before or after the mandatory shift hours):
APAC shift - 12:30 am -6:30am
EMEA shift - 6:30am - 12:30pm
US East shift - 12:30pm - 6:30pm
US West shift - 6:30pm - 12:30am  

Each team member has an on-call duty during the weekends -  12h on Saturday and 12h on Sunday once a month.
