Position Summary:
Senior Manager, Sales Engineer, for the DevTools Business Unit at Perforce is searching for a highly skilled Technical Senior Solution Engineer to join the team. The Senior Solution Engineer will be the interface with new and existing customers in the Open Source management space. In this role you will be meeting with customers and partners perorating OpenLogic’s ability to support enterprise open source management, with focus on mission critical infrastructure and tools.

You will also work collaboratively with all colleagues in the Product Management, Marketing and Sales organization to drive product improvement and customer satisfaction, ultimately ensuring the successful business performance of the product line.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical vision for a solution to a business problem, and the duties include: 

Responsibilities:

    • Understand the client's business strategy and needs, as well as organizational objectives and external drivers 
    • Strategizing the design details of technical solutions to achieve project goals, and ensure the scope of a solution meets the organization's requirements 
    • Assess the strengths, weaknesses, and costs of different options, and evaluate project constraints to identify alternatives and mitigate risks 
    • Provide strategic guidance in the implementation process, and make technical decisions regarding solutions and explaining how they will impact the organization 
    • Ensure the new solution meets industry regulations and complies with standards and governance, if and where necessary
    • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to position the designed solutions from a perspective of perceived value and customer satisfaction 
    • Communicate and work effectively with customer’s stakeholders, and act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders 

Requirements:

    • 3+ years of experience in a Solution/Sales Engineering or similar position
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong proficiency in English
    • The ability to gather, analyse and confidently present relevant data
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
    • Hands-on experience with cloud computing and technologies, database management systems, architecture design patterns, different computer networks, and IT security management
    • The ability to work cross-functionally as a team member and influencer
    • Other qualifications that may be helpful include project management and leadership skills, and an MA in Computer Science or Software Engineering
