Pete For America Internship Program (Summer 2019)
Pete for America is looking for individuals who are interested in becoming Summer Interns to help elect Mayor Pete Buttigieg as the next President of the United States.
Interns will be trained on the basics of organizing and campaign fundamentals and will work closely with Pete for America staff to help execute Campaign priorities. This program is designed to test, train and develop a new class of organizers and help the Campaign expand outreach across the country.
Summer Internships at Pete for America are paid positions. We’re searching for hard-working and kind people to join us at our South Bend, Chicago, Iowa, and New Hampshire offices. We are committed to radical transparency and fairness and are steadfast in our work to share Pete’s vision with the country.
Internships begin on June 3rd, with an 8 week minimum commitment.
Responsibilities
Interns will be asked to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participating in training on field organizing, messaging, and other activities;
Organizing in a community and working in conjunction with grassroots leaders and campaign staff;
Empowering new voters by collecting voter registration forms;
Using social networks to help amplify our message and to talk about the work that we do;
Performing office tasks as directed and needed by the Campaign, including, for example, collecting press clips or coordinating scheduling.
Requirements
Successful candidates will be those who are:
Excited about Mayor Pete
Willing to learn new skills and work on all aspects of the committee
Willing to work in a fast paced environment
Experienced Microsoft Office users and ready to learn other software
Excellent communicators
Organized and proactive
Enthusiastic about working with diverse teams
Committed to public service

Q: Can I receive school credit for my Internship with Pete for America?
A: Many schools require that positions be unpaid in order to earn academic credit; the Internship, however, is a paid position.
Q: Is the Internship part- time or full- time?
A: Candidates are expected to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week.
