We’re a diverse team of 40+ full-time employees teaching off-the-shelf robot arms how to pick (get it?), sort, and stack boxes. 

As a Principal Engineering Program Manager at Pickle Robot, you will keep the trains running on time and ensure an on time delivery of a quality product for our customers. You have broad experience across robotic hardware and software domains, a strong product focus, and the ability to manage cross functional teams to meet deadlines. You will have to oversee separate product workstreams including system performance, usability, safety as well as internal workstreams such as testing and supply chain to make sure all workstreams are ready on time for integration milestones. Note: Pickle will upgrade or downgrade the role to senior or principal level based on the applicant’s experience.


You will:

    • Own the on-time, on-spec, on-budget and with high-quality delivery of products from concept through production
    • Program plan, schedule, budget, risk assess, resource plan and manage, and track related program activities
    • Review, dispose and communicate changes in scope / schedule / expense
    • Conduct regular meetings to ensure cross-functional teams are clear on expectations and problem- solving actions are in place to address issues in a timely manner
    • Maintain adequate technical depth and managerial skill to address issues
    • Collaborate with the product team to ensure customer needs are met
    • Contribute to organizational development and process improvement

You should have:

    • 10+ years of experience in Engineering, including time as a Program Manager or Engineering Team Lead - managing cross-functional teams on complex products in new product development
    • Experience with multiple product launches
    • Experience in developing both deep tech and mature products with ability to discern approaches based on the situation
    • Directly managed system level product development cycles with HW and SW integration
    • Ability to lead and inspire team members
    • Excellent communication and organizational skill
    • A bias towards implementation
    • Creative and critical thinking capabilities
    • Experience with rapid development cycles
    • Flexibility and calm in the face of uncertainty
    • BS degree in an applicable Engineering field or equivalent experience
