About this role
As the Principal product manager in PingCAP, you will work on building the TiDB Database-as-a-Service product based on the public cloud, enabling users worldwide to use the out-of-the-box database service with features of auto-scaling, high availability, and hybrid OLTP/OLAP capability brought by TiDB. You will be actively involved with the product offerings throughout the product life cycle, managing strategic planning, user requirements, and feature design. As a self-starter, keen to learn and experiment with new technologies, you will work both independently and as a team player, identify sales needs, and address them as needed.

Responsibilities

    • Define and drive the TiDB Dedicated product roadmap and strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and insights from customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to continually refine and improve the product roadmap aligned with the company's overall product vision and goals.
    • Collaborate closely with a team of highly skilled engineers within the Cloud engineering and Kernel technology groups, actively spearheading the creation and successful release of targeted features.
    • Recognize avenues to enhance customer satisfaction by crafting and overseeing a comprehensive assortment of products, tools, and features.
    • Create product-related awareness and marketing materials, and promote products and product strategies.
    • Establish feedback loops with customers to incorporate product enhancements.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Apply these insights to enhance our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience in product management, preferably Cloud Computing (PaaS, IaaS)
    • Experience in enterprise database-as-a-service products.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
    • Excellent communication skills with internal teams and external customers.
    • Ability to distill a complex set of requirements into defined deliverables.
$200,000 - $270,000 a year
The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $200k to $270k. The actual individual base pay will depend on various factors such as the complexity and responsibility of the role, work locations, job levels, and relevant experience and skills. This role is also eligible to participate in PingCAP's Bonus and Equity Plan, as well as our Sales Compensation Plan if it is a sales role. In order to comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base salary ranges on all US job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Please note that actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies. Other benefits include health insurance, flexible vacation time, paid holidays, and parental leave. Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.
