Partners in Performance is a global management consulting firm with a focus on human performance and working alongside client partners to make change happen. We’ve got offices in Australia, New Zealand, Africa, North and South America, the UK and Europe but prefer to spend as little time in them as possible. Instead, we work alongside our clients to unleash their potential and deliver lasting impact that you hardly ever achieve by sitting in a boardroom.

As a Manager, you are the frontline change agent in an area of the client’s business. You have overall responsibility for delivering measurable improvements within that area. You role model the activities required to ensure the client achieves sustainable results, and you coach your team, the Implementation Facilitator, and Senior Managers within your area to do the same.

You lead the problem-solving effort and ensure opportunities are rigorously prioritized to ensure the team’s efforts are always aligned against the highest-value tasks. You help your Implementation Facilitator and senior clients drive rapid and sustainable implementation, coaching them to embed continuous improvement into the way they do business.

You kick off the following activities, demonstrating how they’re done, then increasingly work with your team and Implementation Facilitator to coach clients to do it for themselves. The activities are:

- Prepare Driver Trees to identify improvement key levers and focus areas.
- Prioritize effort according to value and ease of implementation.
- Facilitate baseline identification and agree on targets with stakeholders.
- Ensure idea owners complete robust idea forms, including assumptions and data sources, using the 80:20 rule to work around data limitations.
- Gain commitment from idea owners, key stakeholders, and the Area Senior Manager to implement improvement ideas.
- Develop and manage aggressive implementation plans to achieve rapid results.
- Regularly review the progress of ideas with the idea owners and the client’s managers and quickly escalate issues to ensure they’re addressed before they compromise results delivery.

In parallel, you ensure the sustainability of improvements you deliver by coaching your senior clients to implement the wiring to ensure the new processes and behaviors become the path of least resistance. For example, you help them to select the right Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and set the right targets. And you set up and run regular meetings to review results and agree on required actions to keep improvements on track.

Managers will generally have at least five years of work experience in either management consulting or a senior industry position.
