Typical background of a Consulting Manager

    • Outstanding academic results
    • University degree or equivalent experience with a strong emphasis on quantitative skills, especially:
    • Engineering, Commerce/Economics & Mathematics/Science (While we consider candidates from a broad spectrum of degrees, we place a strong emphasis on quantitative skills studied in commerce, engineering and science-based courses)
    • MBA would be an advantage
    • Double degrees and Postgraduate degrees are highly regarded in our firm

What to expect: As a Consulting Manager, you are the front-line change agent in an area of the client’s business. You have overall responsibility for delivering measurable improvements within that area.

    • You will role model the activities required to ensure the client achieves lasting results, and you will coach your team, the Implementation Facilitator and Senior Managers within your area to do the same.
    • You will lead the problem-solving effort and ensure opportunities are rigorously prioritised to ensure the team’s efforts are always aligned against the highest-value tasks.
    • You will assist your Implementation Facilitator and senior clients to drive successful implementation, coaching them to embed continuous improvement into the way they do business.

    • Demonstrated passion for results, with a track record of achieving tough targets under pressure
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, including ability to structure and prioritise effort within an area, and ask the right questions to get to root causes
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to coach, influence and build trust with senior managers, and achieve results though managing a team, prioritising the professional development of team members
    • Propensity to coach and guide younger consultants to deliver results and work through the line to achieve outcomes
    • Strong communication skills, including ability to construct compelling arguments supported by the right facts
    • Show an ability to influence and effectively multitask and manage expectations/deadlines
    • Demonstrated alignment with Partners in Performance values

    • At Partners in Performance you will learn, both the traditional management consulting toolkit, plus the Partners in Performance business transformation methodologies; you will be coached to be able to coach and develop clients and colleagues (both junior and senior to you); and you will participate in a wide range of formal and informal training opportunities.
