Pison is developing breakthrough consumer and healthcare products that are harnessing the power of the mind. Job Summary:
Pison has developed a novel, game changing neural biosensor for wearable devices that is enabling brand new applications and services and we are looking for an established leader in engineering to build out Pison’s systems and support engineering functions. As Head of Systems Engineering you will be a people leader, visionary and strategist building out the Systems Engineering organization which includes systems engineering, quality assurance, and technical program management. Your charter will include: 

Harmonize, and optimize the use of our technology across our tech stack: AI, Machine Learning, mobile and cloud software, firmware and embedded hardware
Continuously improve quality, systems and technical program management best practices, and engineering processes
Drive quality assurance (for both software & hardware), advocating for high code coverage, automation, and overall production yield
Ensure our products and devices are designed to be secure in collaboration with our IS&T team

This position is located in our Boston, MA office and would be expected to be onsite at least 3 times per week. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Has previously managed teams
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
Oversees the daily workflow of the department
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
Ongoing process improvement and mentoring of team members
Handles promotion, discipline, and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Duties/Responsibilities:
Drive our engineering systems products to be scaled, secure, and matureInitially heavily involved as an individual contributor and team leader. 
As we grow, lead and manage the systems engineering, quality, and technical program management teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and products
Ensure products are simple and work as intended as opposed to complex technology for technology's sake
Focus on technology development, and processes that can deliver reliable, consistent, repeatable experiences that delight consumers and deliver on the marketing story and roadmap
Collaborate with Pison Engineering and Product groups to deliver quality, enjoyable experiences for our customers
Support our engineering service offerings with integrating our technology into 3rd party solutions
Highly analytical, data-driven mindset; holds self and others accountable with measurable OKRs
Ensure our products are scalable, secure, compliant and production-ready
Build out & staff necessary organizations within Systems Engineering with a highly qualified team of engineers and developers
Unlock roadblocks at corporate level and cultivate collaboration with executive technologists across Pison through leadership, creativity, intelligence, and presence

Required Skills/Abilities:
Hands-on experience in systems engineering, and either software development or hardware development
Proven experience working on end-to-end product development, bridging hardware and software components seamlessly
Strong understanding of industry-standard program management and quality assurance practices
Natural collaborator, with straightforward communication style and strong executive presence. Must be disciplined and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and capability to interact and influence across multiple levels of a cross-functional organization
Proven success in developing a long-term vision, and executing strategies at scale
Demonstrated ability towards commercial viability would be an important differentiator. 
Demonstrated ability to build organizations will be crucial. Prior experience in transformation roles would be a plus.
Self initiative in an agile software development environment
Outstanding written and oral presentation skills to convey technical concepts to internal and external stakeholdersStrong supervisory and leadership skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment with high ambiguity

Bonus:
Background in wearables, biometrics, or neuroscience
Hands-on experience in quality assurance and program management
Familiarity with Behavioral Driven Development (BDD), and Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies or practical experienceExperience in AI, or Engineering Services
Experienced writing Python, Dart, Flutter, Kotlin, Swift, C++, C
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, or similar

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Minimum 15 years of work experience with at least 10 in a leadership role
$180,000 - $225,000 a year
