ROLE OVERVIEW

Pivot Energy is at an exciting stage of growth, with its first portfolios under ownership coming online. Our Accounting and Finance team is seeking a motivated and self-directed Senior Accountant to assist in managing the accounting transactions within our solar asset portfolios. This role will be primarily responsible for reviewing and posting accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation, and other administrative duties related to our solar asset portfolios. 

This is a position that requires technical accounting skills in accordance with GAAP, multi-entity environments, and financial reporting. The solar industry is an exciting, fast-paced industry requiring creative thinking and problem-solving skills to succeed. Successful delivery in this position will result in growth for both the individual and Pivot Energy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Process accounts payable vendor invoices specific to solar asset portfolios, including Tax Equity Partnerships, and Tax Credit Seller portfolios.
    • Manage accounts receivable process of the portfolios, including but not limited to aging reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and collaboration with the SunCentral team. 
    • Prepare journal entries as part of the portfolio’s month-end close
    • Assist in the reconciliation of the portfolio’s balance sheet and general ledger accounts
    • Assist with annual audit and tax preparations for solar asset portfolios
    • Administrative duties such as check printing, mailings, & LLC reporting
    • Performing other accounting duties as required or assigned

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

    • 5+ years of professional experience in accounting and finance
    • Strong analytical and communication skills
    • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Sage Intacct or equivalent accounting software
    • Must be detail-oriented with hands-on execution capability

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

    • 2+ years of energy industry experience
    • Self-starter with strong self-motivation and a proven capacity to work in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment
    • Prior experience in the solar industry and asset management portfolios is a plus
    • Familiarity with Sage Intacct
    • CPA license a plus
$85,000 - $110,000 a year
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The estimated base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the company’s substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 30% of annual salary (prorated in the first year based on start date). Compensation will be based on factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
