The GL Accounting team is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across Plaid’s global operations. We manage general ledger accounting, accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, intercompany, consolidations, international statutory reporting, and treasury operations. As the GL Accounting Manager, you will lead a team of accountants across core GL functions and treasury operations. You will oversee the month-end close, ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX, drive process improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally to support Plaid’s financial operations and scale.
Responsiblities
- Own and lead the month-end close processes including general ledger, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, and consolidations
- Manage daily close checklists, account reconciliations, and variance analyses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with AP, T&E, Corp Fin, Strat Fin, Legal for timely and accurate close processes
- Manage international accounting and annual statutory audit
- Oversee cash and treasury operations
- Revamp key month-end close processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, completeness and SOX compliance
- Develop and mentor team members to build a high-performing function
Qualifications
- 5+ years in an accounting role, 2+ years in a people management role
- Proven ability to lead a 5-day (or faster) close process in a fast-paced environment
- CPA certification
- Experience at a public company or IPO experience a plus
- Experience managing international accounting and statutory audits
- Exposure to treasury operations and banking platforms
- Interest or experience in leveraging AI and automation to optimize accounting processes
- Background in process improvement and change management initiatives
- Ability to mentor junior team members and support talent development across the team
$104,880 - $214,800 a year
The target base salary for this position ranges from $104,880/year to $214,800/year [encompassing all zones]. The target base salary will vary based on the job's location.
Our geographic zones are as follows:
Zone 1 - New York City and San Francisco Bay Area
Zone 2 - Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington D.C.
Zone 3 - Austin, Boston, Denver, Houston, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego
Zone 4 - Raleigh-Durham and all other US cities
