The Investments team gives users tools to manage their investments in securities and cryptocurrency to optimize their financial wellness. We own the Plaid investments product end to end from the frontend user experience to the back end bank data integrations. Our B2B customers include some of the biggest Personal Finance Management and Wealth Advising application users.

You will build industry bar-setting new products for users to understand and control their investments. Your work will be a key unlock to land and retain Plaids customers in Personal Finance Management and Wealth Advising from our largest enterprise clients to the newest disruptive startups.

Responsibilities

    • Build new Investments products from the ground up, creating new capabilities for Plaid and for the fintech industry as a whole.
    • Work hand-in-hand with product and design to define what our products are and how they work.
    • Create well-crafted, maintainable code while striving for clarity and simplicity.
    • Design new systems inside our architectural ecosystem with mentorship from experienced Plaids.
    • Get to know our customers face to face and deeply understand their problems.
    • Own ambiguous problems and bring your creativity and grit to bear on problem solving.
    • Create the technical vision for improvements in system maintenance and extensibility.
    • Amplify your impact by teaching members of the team and breaking down problems other engineers to own.

Qualifications

    • At least five years professional software engineering experience. Experience writing high quality, maintainable code.
    • High ownership. You are excited to roll up your sleeves and figure things out that don’t have precedent at Plaid.
    • Customer empathy. You want to be face to face with customers to understand their needs and design Investments products together.
    • Ownership mindset: Act as a leader on the team by identifying new opportunities, teaching, and unblocking others.
    • Nice to have: personal or professional experience working with investments data.
$162,000 - $243,000 a year
Target base Salary for this role is $162,000 - $243,000 per year. Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
