Sales Engineering unlocks and empowers prospects’ full potential on the Plaid Network. We bring product expertise and drive Revenue outcomes by being customer-obsessed technical advisors in the pre-sales process.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Banking and Wealth Sales team as the technical lead during the pre-sales process. You will be responsible for partnering with Account Executives, proactively pushing deals forward by overcoming technical objections and evangelizing Plaid solutions to technical and non-technical customer stakeholders. You will guide customers through thorough technical scoping, ensuring foundational architectural decisions set customers up for long-term success. You will ensure a successful transition to the post-sale stage of the customer lifecycle and partner with account teams to drive adoption of new products by existing customers. You will be expected to have significant knowledge of the financial services industry and a deep understanding of how clients can best utilize Plaid.

Responsibilities

    • Serve as the lead technical product lead for Enterprise accounts throughout the sales process
    • Partner with Account Executives to demonstrate to prospects how Plaid can best address their use cases and technical requirements. Specifically, to design solutions and share best practices throughout the sales process
    • Work with our engineering and product teams to translate prospect feedback into meaningful product insights

Requirements

    • 5-7+ years of customer facing experience selling to large enterprises
    • Experience in financial services or selling to financial services companies
    • A strong sense of customer empathy
    • A background that combines business experience and technical acumen
    • Strong communications skills with a confident and proactive approach to client management
    • Ability to quickly understand new technologies and complex concepts quickly
    • Knowledge of web services, APIs, and related standards such as HTTP and REST
    • Knowledge of mobile and web application architecture specific to interfacing with API platforms
    • Payments & Identity verification experience a plus!
    • Willing and able to travel as needed to customers, office, team events, etc.
