The Executive Recruiting team at Plaid is a highly strategic function responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing the senior and executive talent who will shape the future of our company. We focus exclusively on mission-critical roles across every function at Plaid, partnering directly with the company's executive leadership.

This specific role will focus on leading searches for our most senior technical roles across Engineering, Security, Data, Product, and Design.

You will operate as a trusted partner, leveraging a data-supported approach and deep industry expertise to influence high-stakes hiring decisions. This is a high-impact, results-oriented team where you are expected to be at the center of driving effective working relationships with Hiring Managers and cross-functional partners to deliver on highly visible searches with minimal oversight.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of executive search expertise, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of the technical talent market. You must have a track record of running senior-level searches end-to-end, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and know how to balance urgency with thoughtfulness to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Responsibilities

    • Full-Cycle Search Execution: Incorporate deep knowledge of the role, market behaviors, and competitive landscape to formulate advanced pipeline development strategies and inform the go-to-market approach. Lead full-cycle executive searches for Plaid’s most senior technical roles, from intake to close.
    • Sourcing & Talent Identification: Identify and set the strategy to engage with exceptional, diverse executive talent. Consistently drive the top of the funnel and build talent pools that produce qualified candidates.
    • Expert Engagement and Closing: Act as an expert in crafting effective candidate communication with a deep understanding of Plaid’s business and an individualized value proposition. You must have the ability to get to a deep understanding of candidate objections, motivations, and role alignment. It is crucial that you can manage candidate relationships with discretion, thoughtfulness, and a high-touch approach.
    • Consultative Business Partnership: Create talent strategies and operate with a highly consultative approach that uses data, research, and market intelligence to influence and guide hiring partners through the search process.
    • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a collaborative partner with the People, Finance, and Legal teams. 
    • Results-Oriented Problem Solving: Proactively anticipate challenges and use data to make decisions amidst ambiguity, with little oversight.
    • Champion Best Practices: Uphold and continuously improve best practices and innovation in executive recruiting at Plaid.

Qualifications

    • 5 years of experience in executive-level technical recruiting in an executive search firm or in-house executive search function.
    • Experience at an executive search firm is strongly preferred.
    • Proven ability to build credibility and trust with executives and senior stakeholders.
    • Strong sourcing skills and familiarity with a variety of research tools and approaches.
    • Exceptional communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
    • Excels in handling complex, unclear situations with minimal support and is able to navigate ambiguity.
    • A high level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information.
    • Curiosity, resilience, and a drive to deliver impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
$95,760 - $174,000 a year
The target base salary for this position ranges from $95,760/year to $174,000/year. The target base salary will vary based on the job's location. 

Our geographic zones are as follows:
Zone 1 - New York City and San Francisco Bay Area
Zone 2 - Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington D.C.
Zone 3 - Austin, Boston, Denver, Houston, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego Zone 4 - Raleigh-Durham, and all other US cities

Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
