The Manager of Health Center Training will work in close partnership with the Director of Health Center Training in managing the strategic and operational elements of PPPSW health center training functions and performance support for learning for all non-licensed staff.
In addition, this position will supervise a team of Training Specialists focused on delivering all training to health center staff and will advocate for, lead and sustain a culture of learning at PPPSW.

PPPSW Compensation Philosophy and Position Hiring Rate:

    • At Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (PPPSW) the philosophy behind our compensation efforts is to foster workplace equity by aligning pay and benefit structures with our Agency’s mission and values. The Affiliate establishes compensation supported by a position description that identifies competencies, duties, responsibilities and qualifications. In alignment with the Agency culture, PPPSW will strive to communicate openly and transparently about the goals of the Agency and the design of the compensation policies. The Agency will ensure the compensation program is administered in a manner that is consistent with Agency’s value of pay equity.

    • The compensation for this position is $115,000 - $120,000/Annually + Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 Matching Program, Educational Assistance, Access to 1:1 Mental Fitness/Life coach, Premium CALM account and more!

In this role, you'll get to:

    • Develop job competence for all newly hired Health Center non-licensed staff, including the design, delivery and evaluation of effectiveness of all health center non-licensed training programs   

    • Build a high-performing team of Training Specialists responsible for delivering and evaluating role-specific training programs for health center staff

    • Lead training development projects; serves as lead instructional designer for role-based learning and supports complex projects

    • Collaborate with department leadership and key stakeholders to assess training and development needs and develop solutions to meet those needs

    • Implement systems to continuously monitor and solicit feedback on the effectiveness of training programs and materials to ensure accuracy, relevance and effectiveness

    • Identify and monitors business impacts of training programs with a focus on cost effectiveness and improved ROI of training programs

    • Ensure training programs are in compliance with PPFA Accreditation requirements

    • Collaborate with instructional design contractors as needed

    • Perform small and large group facilitation

    • Develop and monitor key performance metrics with an emphasis on creating improved performance through training

    • Identify cost savings opportunities and ROI related to training programs

What we're looking for:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (4+ years of experience in Talent Development, Training, Facilitation etc..)

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing training programs and materials including e-learning, instructor-led programs, and other performance-support tools and resources

    • 3+ years of experience of building and leading a diverse, high-performing training team in the development, facilitation and evaluation of learning programs

    • 1+ years of relevant experience working in healthcare setting

    • Familiarity with SABA or equivalent LMS system

    • Ability to work flexible hours with occasional weekends and evenings

    • Ability to travel locally and nationally as necessary. Occasional out-of-town travel

    • Ability to apply principles of adult learning to design & delivery solutions that maximize learning and/or behavioral outcomes, enhance motivation and increase learner knowledge retention

    • Proven results in training needs analysis, instructional design, training delivery and facilitation, and evaluating the impact of training to ensure business effectiveness outcomes

    • Ability to create collaborative, supportive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization to achieve results

    • Strategic, creative and innovative thinker with proven ability to manage large, complex learning projects with multiple stakeholders

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    • Ability to implement creative solutions for training health center staff while balancing learning goals with productivity and business results

    • Ability to coach and develop training and development skills of direct reports with subject matter expertise who may not have formal training & development experience

    • Excellent platform facilitation and presentation skills applying a solid understanding of adult learning theory

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in related field preferred

    • Health Care Training experience preferred
