The Director of Health Center Training will work in close partnership with the Sr. Director of Talent Development and the Operational Directors in managing the strategic and operational elements of PPPSW health center training functions and performance support for learning for all non-licensed staff.
 
In addition, this position will also serve as the primary point of accountability for Health Center training programs and learning outcomes, supervise the Health Center Training Programs Managers and the Training Coordinator. It will also oversee all aspects of Health Center learning programs, leveraging the department’s instructional design resources and outside instructional design consultants, and will advocate for, lead and sustain a culture of learning at PPPSW.

In this role, you'll get to:

    • Leads the strategy for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of all health center training programs

    • Ensures both effectiveness for the learners and cost effectiveness of the program, measuring and improving the ROI of the Agency’s investments in training

    • Fosters a culture of continuous learning

    • Ensures the effectiveness of onboarding training and learning for non-licensed Health Center staff, including initial new hire training and the verification of job competency

    • Supports the professional development of non-licensed staff throughout the employee lifecycle to ensure continuous learning

    • Designs the training strategy for all Health Center software system upgrades (Electronic Health Records, Patient Portal, and more.)

    • Creates and implements a strategy for leveraging centralized training sites (i.e. Kearny Mesa)

    • Ensuring training programs are in compliance with PPFA Accreditation requirements

    • Oversees the continuous improvement and redesign of all onboarding training based on changes to work tasks, competencies or process flows in the Health Centers

    • Responsible for the coordination and delivery of Health Center Manager and Lead Clinician onboarding program with the Operations Team

    • Collects, analyses and reports on data sets in real time to affect learning, performance and business.  Discerns meaningful insights from data and analytics about health center talent

    • Develop processes and policies to ensure compliance with and appropriate documentation of all required training from regulatory Agencies including PPFA accreditation requirements for the workforce

    • Develop and monitor key performance metrics with an emphasis on creating improved performance through training

    • Identify and monitor business impacts of training programs with a focus on cost effectiveness and improved ROI of training programs

    • Collaborate with process owners and operational leaders to agree and deliver on service levels

What we're looking for:

    • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience

    • 10+ Years of experience in a Talent Development and Training Capacity

    • 5+ Years of experience of direct people management of a talent development and training team of professionals

    • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the training and development function to create, curate and deploy talent development strategies and plans

    • Experience with the implementation of complex, multi-modal training and learning programs involving multiple stakeholder groups and audiences

    • Experience measuring the transfer of learning to job performance and the overall effectiveness of learning interventions

    • Experience developing or overseeing the development of training content using a variety of existing and emerging technologies like gamification, micro-learning, simulations, virtual learning, blended learning, social media and mobile applications

    • Experience managing organizational change, Prosci certification a plus

    • Experience assessing an organization’s training needs, maintaining a culture of learning, and building DEI concepts into training at all levels.

    • Expert communication skills (ability to influence, clarify, persuade, inform, write, speak, facilitate, and engage with a wide range of audiences at all levels of the agency)

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in related field preferred

    • Health care experience strongly preferred

    • Experience with SABA LMS is preferred

    • Prosci certification preferred
