We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), to provide comprehensive day-to-day support to managers and staff on all employment related matters. As a member of the HR team, you will formulate partnerships across the HR function to collaborate and deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
The HRBP will help translate HR initiatives and serves as a partner to management and employees regarding legal compliance and HR policies and processes. The HRBP manages the full employee life cycle including benefits, wage and hour, compensation, workers compensation, leave of absences, performance management and employee relations.

In this role, you’ll get to:

    • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee engagement and retention. This will includes assisting in periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement.

    • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.

    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with HR leadership and the legal department as needed/required.

    • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.

    • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.

    • Consults with HR leadership as appropriate on complex personnel matters to appropriately mitigate risk.

    • Communicates compensation and benefits program information to maximize employee awareness and understanding of offerings.

    • Monitors all pay changes for compliance within the pay grades or grids.

    • Partners with HRIS Specialist to ensure data integrity in systems and report running as needed, analyzes trends and metrics in partnership to help develop solutions.

    • Coordinates with total rewards team on benefits, leaves of absence, and worker’s compensation claims while facilitating the communication and administration of these programs with employees.

    • Coaches and trains managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.  Makes certain that the managers know how to successfully, ethically, honestly, and legally communicate with employees.

    • In partnership with the Dir of HR, manage unemployment claims and represent the Agency at hearings as needed.

    • Partners with Payroll to ensure they have the information they need to manage Payroll.

    • Manages leaves of absences and worker’s compensation claims to ensure the Agency is legally complaint in its responsibilities. Ensure on going supervisor/employee communication and understanding of applicable policies, laws and employee’s status.

What we’re looking for:

    • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2+ years resolving complex employee relations issues, with specialized training in employment law, employee relations, and performance management preferred.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field, SHRM-SCP and/or SPHR and PHR-CA certifications desired.

    • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement preferred.

    • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate, communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.

    • Ability to maintain a broad view of the business, demonstrating strong diagnostic, problem solving and analytical skills, delivering solutions that balance individual and overall company needs.

    • Ability to focus on critical issues and balance and respond to competing short-term and long-term priorities. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
