As a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) you will be responsible for a variety of clinical laboratory testing, result review and recording.

This exciting opportunity will perform QC/QA procedures, preventive maintenance and test validation. Review and report test results in accordance with laboratory standards. Maintain working knowledge of clinic and laboratory policies and procedures and act as an interim lead in the absence of the Lab Manager. In addition, you will also take an active role in process improvement for the lab, collecting metrics, analyzing errors and advocating for improvement for the lab to be inspection ready!

**This position is Part Time, benefitted position located in San Diego, CA**

In this role, you'll get to:

    • Maintain records and files as required by Procedure Manual to ensure the orderly functioning of the laboratory.

    • Support health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity and quality metrics.

    • Assist with training of new personnel as needed.  

    • Serve as a laboratory department quality representative as needed to ensure quality compliance in documentation and performance, document any new trending quality issues, and work with laboratory manager and other quality team representatives to address the trending issues.

    • Initiate and execute quality or process improvement projects as needed.

    • Perform functions pertaining to problem solving and case research including documentation as required.

What we're looking for:

    • Minimum Education: Training in an approved school or program of medical technology.

    • Minimum Experience: 2+ years experience bench testing in a clinical laboratory.

    • Licenses: CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist

    • Availability: Ability to work 3x a week - Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays

Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1+ years experience working with a laboratory information system (LIS) preferred.

    • Experience using the Hologic Panther system preferred.

    • CSP experience preferred
$45 - $48 an hour
